Buick lesabre?

i have a 1990 buick lesabre and when i'm driving a clicking noise will come from the glove compartment near the relays, then the car dies but starts up agian and sometimes trys to stall out. taken it to shops but since the engine lights not on they say they can't do anything and can't figure out what is wrong with it, when there is no noise the car runs fine
