Sttray.exe is eating up my CPU. What do i do?

sttray.exe (the IDT sound driver, i believe) is using up over half of my CPU all the time until i end the process in the task manager. Do i need it? Could i delete it entirely without disastrous repercussions? or is there some way i can fix it?
