Why is that help helple?

Why that when try to draw a original character and the next minute I find out there a character thats almost the the same(the clothes,not the design)That I never seen or hear before.I always want to make a cartoon show.Were to start,Ok lets talk about Edward,Ok Edward is about red shirt and red cap boy who do alot of things like himself in trouble sometime or trying escape his foes like big mad man name Sandtoes and his neighbor Bill who hate him because Edward blow up his house alot times.Hes alost has a best friend name Roy who help him and he others friends like Kyler,Matt,BionicleFan999(I never got a name for him yet) and a gay teenage Boy(I never got a name for him yet) who Edward never think of him as a friend,But don't know that.Sometime he played the bad guy and fight his nemesis Sam when they played Good.vs. Evil.What the problem? you ask well is that Edward and Stu/Stuart/Shou(Hawkstar123's character,That character look like a cross between Danny Phantom, Marty Mcfly and Ashton Kutcher) they clothes almost look the same,like the shirts and the shoes,But not the pants and the cap that Edward has.Now we talk about Stan,my other series is about a blue shirt boy name Stan who cool awsome boy,that nice to alot people and love snowboarding and video games.He like to had fun crazy adventures.And the Samething as Edward,Stan superhero alter ego and Profanity Man almost look the same.RectangleMan or RectangleGuy is shapes people I hope people will never mistake him that Homestar or another thing Roomate and 6 Trys are next idea for catroon. What to becuse this the same thing and what to say to HIM or HER or HESHE?
