How do I get my parakeets to eat veggies? They are Budgerigar Parakeets, one is green and the other is yellow.

I have two Budgerigar Parakeets and they have always had a diet of seeds and millet. I want to start giving them veggies, so I gave them some carrots. I cut up the baby carrots into nice small pieces so that they could get them into their mouths. I did that yesterday. This morning I look in their cage and all the baby carrot pieces are on the floor of their cage covered in poop. I don't know how to make them eat veggies, I have also tried broccoli and they didn't eat that either. I am starting to think that they just don't like veggies but I had done research and a lot of people said they love vegetables, especially carrots and broccoli. Please help.
